FACE IS THE EUROPEAN FEDERATION
FOR HUNTING AND CONSERVATION

Established in 1977, FACE represents the interests of Europe’s 7 million hunters as an international non-profit-making non-governmental organisation (INGO). This makes FACE the largest democratically representative body for hunters in the world and probably one of the largest European civil society organisations.

The Voice of European Hunters

FACE is made up of its Members: national hunters’ associations from 36 European countries including the EU-28. FACE also has 7 Associate Members and has its Secretariat in Brussels.

FACE upholds the principle of sustainable use and has been a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) since 1987. FACE works with its partners on a range of hunting-related matters, from international conservation agreements to local implementation issues with the aim of sustaining hunting across Europe.

DEFEND HUNTER’S RIGHTS IN EUROPE

A BRIDGE BETWEEN EUROPEAN INSTITUTIONS AND HUNTERS

FACE builds the bridge between the Institutions of the European Union and the representatives of civil society who stand for sustainable hunting and conservation in Europe, working towards one goal: to maintain sustainable hunting across Europe.

FACE regularly holds events in the European Parliament, provides opportunities for hunters and EU policy makers to meet directly, participates in various official expert and advisory groups within the European Commission where EU policy proposals originate and their implementation brought forward.

This wide variety of activity is representative of the importance and breadth of the EU’s influence. The FACE Secretariat responds to this by ensuring an integrated approach, working closely with the FACE Members to make sure the right information is reaching the right decision makers at the right time – all for the future of hunting.
